We are mainly members of Attenborough Garden Club and want to promote interest in and knowledge of the village of Attenborough and it’s Station by
·engaging with and providing improved facilities for local residents, visitors and commuters
·developing the local community gardens, green spaces and potential public gardens in the village
·passing our experience and knowledge on to those beneficiaries.
We’ve started by adopting our local historic station and
· created a healthy, environmentally friendly, colourful, all year-round community garden, partly with recycled materials.
· provided Interpretation Boards and this website which provides information about the historic village and station
From feedback from commuters, visitors and residents we know all our work is much appreciated.
We hope the Station adoption by the Attenborough Elderflowers is the forerunner of other community garden schemes in the village.
Many thanks for the support of all our main funders (National Lottery Awards for All, Tesco Bags of Help and Nottinghamshire County Council’s Local Improvement Fund), business and family donors, East Midlands Trains and Network Rail, Attenborough Nature Centre, the many volunteers who provided their support for free and Attenborough Garden Club some of whose members became the Elderflowers and made the station improvements possible
